Alliance 2021 Membership Meeting was successfully held

On December 16, 2021, the 2021 Annual General Meeting of the China (Germany) R&D Innovation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "the Alliance") was successfully held online, with over 40 Chinese companies in Germany, professional associations, experts and scholars, and some supporting members attending the online meeting. The meeting was held online. The General Assembly listened to and reviewed the work and financial report of the Alliance for the year 2021, elected new directors, considered and approved the joining of new members, and awarded the outstanding performance of enterprises and individuals for the year 2021. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Hao, Secretary General of the Alliance. Counsellor Guowang Sun from the Science and Technology Department of the Chinese Embassy in Germany attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Second Secretary Zhou Shunjie of the Science and Technology Department of the Chinese Embassy in Germany attended the conference.


 

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Lei, Chairman of the Alliance, reported on the work of the Alliance. In 2021, the Alliance completed the website revision and upgrade and tax review, absorbed many new members, and held more than 30 high-quality online professional seminars. The key work is summarized in the following four aspects: 1. building an online China-EU cooperation and exchange platform; 2. creating a China-EU research policy and project information platform; 3. establishing professional committees; 4. creating a technology incubation platform. In addition, President Lei made the following outlook on the work of the Alliance in 2022: 1. Relying on professional committees to achieve sustainable development of professional services; 2. Involving Sino-German members and connecting with Sino-European cooperation institutions; 3. Creating special services to strengthen the Alliance's brand; 4. Organizing brand activities as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. Finally, President Lei thanked the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Science and Technology Department of the Embassy in Germany for their continuous support to the work of the Alliance, and all the members of the Alliance and the staff of the Secretariat for their unremitting efforts for the Sino-German cooperation in science and technology R&D and innovation. Afterwards, Mr. Yu Li, Treasurer of the Alliance, presented the financial report of the Alliance for 2021. Both the work report and the financial report were approved by vote.

 

The second item on the agenda of the General Assembly was to vote on three proposals (Proposal for 2022 Annual Budget of the Alliance, Proposal for New Members of the Alliance, and Proposal for Changes in the Membership of the Board of Directors of the Alliance), all three proposals were supported and approved by the members. The General Assembly elected Shaangu European R&D Co., Ltd. as the new member of the Board of Directors, and approved six new units and experts to join the Alliance, namely Weiqiao Germany GmbH, Great Wall Motor Germany, Baosteel Europe GmbH, Autel Europe GmbH, Prof. Tao Jiang and Mr. Yu Liao.

 


Alliance members have worked closely with their German partners in the past year and achieved a series of achievements in the field of research and technology. On the day of the conference, Prof. Fan Mo, Vice Chairman of the Alliance, presented awards to members who have achieved excellent results in 2021 and to individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the Alliance. Among them, Shaangu European Research and Development Co., Ltd. and Dresdner Technology GmbH received the "Innovation Award for International Cooperation". Sino-German Joint R&D Center for Rail Transportation Technology (Dresden) GmbH and Huali Technology Germany GmbH received the "Innovation Award for Scientific and Technological Cooperation". Prof. Zhengmeng Hou of the Technical University of Kronstadt received the "Special Contribution Award". In appreciation of the support from the former Minister of Science and Technology of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, Mr. Yin Jun was awarded the title of "Honorary Lifetime Member".

 

In the free discussion stage, all member units actively participated and contributed to the future development of the Alliance, expressing their wish to cooperate more closely with the Alliance and jointly promote Sino-German R&D cooperation in science and technology. Chairman Lei Charter said that in 2022, the Alliance will continue to do a good job in serving its members, set up a professional committee for lightweight and intelligent manufacturing, grasp the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of Sino-German diplomatic relations in 2022, hold a series of high-quality activities, and effectively promote Sino-German private science and technology cooperation.

 

Counsellor Guowang Sun of the Science and Technology Department of the Chinese Embassy in Germany affirmed the efforts and achievements of the Alliance this year under the general environment of the epidemic. At the same time, Counsellor Sun reviewed the development of the Alliance from its establishment to now and said that the Alliance has grown into an important Sino-German R&D and innovation cooperation platform. The construction and development of the alliance should continue to follow the principles of common consultation, common construction and sharing, give full play to the unique advantages of the alliance units in their respective fields, and jointly promote the development of Sino-German bilateral scientific and technological cooperation relations.
